Kansas Hunts

  Kansas Rifle
Kansas’s rifle hunts are five-day hunts. We offer two rifle hunts per year. It takes time and effort to take the type of trophy most of our hunters desire. Our year round feed program, food plots, and agricultural fields make for heavy horns and bodies. Hunts take place in Units eight and nine. Broken Arrow Outfitters maintains approximately 19,000 acres of hills, timber, and alfalfa pastures. This hunt is only for the true trophy hunter and usually produces one or more bucks, grossing more than the Boone and Crocket minimum. The rifle season in Kansas is post rut and deer sightings will not be high, but the age structure and genetics of our deer herd allow for the opportunity to harvest a magnificent trophy. We can offer other opportunities for the hunters who wish to see large numbers of game. Most years success rates will average around fifty percent and most bucks will score in the one forty range with some grossing over the Boone and Crocket minimum. Hunters may hunt all day or choose to return to camp for lunch. Hunting is done form ladder stands ground blinds and tripods.

  Kansas Muzzleloader
Our Kansas Muzzleloader hunts also takes place in Units eight and nine. This hunt is conducted primarily from ladder stands and ground blinds over looking food plots and alfalfa fields. Some spot and stalk hunting is also utilized. In September our bucks are still in bachelor groups and can sometimes be extremely predictable. If a hunter is lucky and gets good weather this hunt can be the best hunt of the year. The muzzleloader hunt is very weather dependent but can be the best opportunity to take that buck of a lifetime. Many of our clients enjoy this hunt because it affords the opportunity to see multiple bucks at one time.

  Kansas Archery
This hunt takes place on the same properties as our rifle hunts, with some additional property available only for our archery clients. It is the best chance to see Boone and Crocket White Tails in Kansas. Our hunters average 80% shot opportunity and usually have good action with the rattling horns. This hunt is for the serious bow hunter only. This hunt requires a hunter to be more concerned with quality of game and less worried about pure success. During this time of the year you could harvest the buck of a lifetime at any moment. Shots may range out to forty yards and beyond, but it is up to the hunter to know his effective range. During the rut a hunter has his best chance to encounter the true bruisers that Kansas is known for.

  Kansas Turkey
Kansas’s turkey hunting is the best-kept secret in the woods. Our sheer numbers of birds and easy hunting terrain makes this a great experience for anyone. The flock in our area of Kansas contains many highbred Rio Grande and Eastern turkeys. This hunt is a fantastic opportunity for a hunter to harvest two birds in a two and a half day hunt. Hunting is conducted from ground blinds and traditional methods. This hunt is usually one hundred percent success.
